Older People's Christmas Party
On 9th December, more than 100 older people came together to celebrate Christmas at the Marriott Hotel Marble Arch. Everyone shared a traditional Christmas lunch, live music and gifts. And Santa himself popped in to run a game of bingo!
“It was a lovely place and such a wonderful party. It was so well-organised and the staff paid so much attention to everyone. It made me feel elated!”

We hold a Christmas party for local older people every year. For many, this will be their only opportunity to celebrate. A dedicated, safe transport service makes it possible for everyone to attend, offering the chance to enjoy the company of others in festive surroundings. Music, conversation and laughter are as important as sharing food and gifts for those who spend much of their time alone.
In the boroughs we work in, around 50% of older people live alone. And recent research shows that one pensioner in four is unable to take part in social activities for reasons connected with poverty, health or isolation. Regular events like our Christmas party complement our weekly befriending visit scheme - both offer a lifeline to isolated older people in west and central London.
We would like to say a big thank you to the following companies and supporters for making this year's party possible:
- Robert Irving Burns
- Mears Group
- Potter Raper Partnership
- Direction Law
- Savoy Stewart
- Harlequin Pest Control
- Open Door Company
- Silver Saints Handyman Service
- John O’Connor Grounds Maintenance
- RAAM Contruction Ltd
- Ellis and Co
