Consider for a moment what kind of community you’d like to live in. Think about what it might be like to grow up and eventually grow old there. As a child, would you have a safe space to learn and play? In later life, could you look forward to the friendship and support of those around you?
The Octavia Foundation wants to create that opportunity for everyone. We support those affected by low income, ill health, social isolation or unemployment in some of the most deprived areas of London. In the boroughs where we work, over 50% of older people live alone, which has a major impact on their mental wellbeing and physical health. And a staggering 45% of London’s children live in poverty, which means they face practical and emotional challenges including very limited social opportunity.
With recent welfare reforms and cuts in public expenditure, the number of those who need our help is growing.
Please support us in any way you can as we try to meet this need.
You can see the difference that your donation could make in this short film which tells the stories of two of the people we have worked with - Joyce and Lex.
We know that providing value for money is important to those who give their money, time or pre-loved clothes to help fund our work. We keep our governance costs to a minimum and our office costs are supported by an in kind donation from Octavia Housing annually. Octavia Foundation is registered with and regulated by the Charity Commission, raising essential funds for a wide range of projects which are delivered by Octavia Housing.
